Episode 2: Space Fall
There’s far too much noise. Not just in my life, but on social media. Just endless streams of content, news, photos and it’s getting to be tiresome. I like comicbooks, I like music and I’m happy to follow some people who like to talk about them, review them and inspire me. But there’s so much. It’s endless chaff and everyone seems to be fighting for followers and eyes on their content. I understand that it’s a cut throat world, with everyone trying to get the exclusive and break the news first but it’s exhausting. I can’t keep up and my eyes just kind of slide over the feeds now, not absorbing anything at all.
I think I want the old way back. Magazine reviews, the best journalists writing for one or two monthly publications. I want that slower release of info, so I can absorb it, rather than having endless scrolling sessions of combatting data streams assaulting my eyeballs and making me give up on the whole thing. I want the old internet back. The obscure blogs, the weird forums dedicated to one subject. Currently it seems as if the internet is 4 or 5 competing social media apps and some shopping apps. What happened? I’m tired. I don’t want to play this game anymore.
